Plants and trees sprout from the modular units that make up this timber-framed high-rise named Tree Tower, proposed by architecture firm Penda for Toronto.
The 18-storey Tree Tower will be built from Cross-Laminated Timber (CLT) panels, which will be manufactured off-sire and craned in to reduce noise, disruption, and construction time.
Large terraces in each apartment will support the trees growing up the building’s structure. These trees will help regulate internal temperatures, and combat air pollution by absorbing surrounding carbon dioxide.
